Brighton is a line of women's accessories that includes watches, purses and belts. Brighton accessories have a distinctive style which includes engraved sterling silver. Their watches have the common snap back, which means the back of the watch case pops open to reveal the inside of the watch. Changing a watch battery is simple and can be done in a few minutes.

Turn your Brighton watch face down on a cloth, so the watch face does not get scratched while you are changing the battery.

Locate the groove on the watch case back between the removable case back and the actual watch case. Slide your flat tool into the groove. You can use a watch case opener tool, but a small screwdriver or the tip of a butter knife would work just as well. Twist your tool to pop the back open. Be careful not to scratch the watch case with your tool.

Take note of which side of the battery is facing up, because you will need to put the new battery in the same way. Remove the battery with a pair of tweezers. If you did not know what type of battery your watch requires, you can look on the old battery for the correct size.

Hold the new battery with tweezers and carefully put the new battery in the watch with the correct side facing up. Turn the watch over once the battery is in place to make sure the second hand is ticking.

Close the case back by pressing it down until you hear a "click."
