If you want to do something different with your hair, you can see how different hairstyles look on you without the commitment. Free virtual makeover websites allow you to see exactly how a hairstyle will look and will let you know if it is compatible with your face shape. You just need to be able to provide a photo of yourself so that you can use it on the virtual makeover website.
Pull your hair back so that none of it is hanging in front of your face or around your shoulders. Stand against a plain background and have someone take a picture of you with a digital camera. Make sure that there is a memory card in the camera.
Log on to a website that allows you to see how different hairstyles will look on you (see Resources). Insert your memory card into the correct slot on your computer. When you are on the virtual makeover page of the site, select the "Upload" or "Upload a photo" option. Navigate to the photo you had taken and click "Open" to upload it.
Go to the hairstyles tab in the virtual makeover and click on each hairstyle you would like to "try on." Take note of the hairstyles you like so you can tell your hairdresser.
