This is a quick, easy and tasty way to toast pecans.
I didn’t like the dust all over the bagged pecan halves I’d purchased, so I tried rinsing them. Since they were all wet, I decided to dry them in the oven at a very low temperature.
They were an instant hit with my family.
Things You'll Need
Preheat Oven to 225 degrees.
Place pecan halves in colander and rinse them under cool tap water. Toss them a little to make sure they are all rinsed. Shake out excess water. Pour damp pecans onto a non-stick cookie sheet (or non-stick aluminum foil, if you prefer).
If you want to add a little sea salt, sprinkle it over the wet nuts.
Toast in oven. The timing will vary, so check them every 5 minutes or so. It usually takes about 15 to 20 minutes.
Experiment with seasonings, but I suggest you try them plain and unsalted first. They are surprisingly good, and sometimes addictive.
