Rice Krispies treats have stood the test of time as an easy-to-make sweet snack. The original recipe calls for three simple ingredients: Rice Krispies cereal, melted butter and marshmallows. The classic treats should be stored for no longer than two days in an airtight container at room temperature. To stock up on your supply, follow these simple instructions for freezing the treats so you always have a few handy.

Cut finished Rice Krispies treats into pieces. Use a sharp knife to ensure a smooth and even cut.

Arrange squares on the bottom of an airtight container. Place a sheet of wax paper on top of the squares. Create another layer of squares on top of the wax paper.

Close the airtight container and make sure it's sealed. Mark the date on a piece of tape and stick it onto the top of the container.

Place the container of treats in the freezer. They can be frozen for up to six weeks. Let frozen treats stand at room temperature for 15 minutes before serving.
