Warm-up the product. The most popular old-fashioned hair product for slicking back your hair is Pomade. Popular brand names are Murray's Pomade and NuNile Pomade. Both products are exceptional. Your grocery store or drug store will also have plenty of other variations of Pomade, which you can purchase. Take a scoop of Pomade about the size of a dollar coin and begin to rub it in your hands. Heating the product makes it easier to work in and slick back your hair.
Apply product to your hair. Since your hair is in essence already back, work the product in by slicking it over the top.
Re-comb your hair in the same manner you did before. This will re-establish the shape of the look in case your hair was mussed in any way while applying the product.
Spray your hair with hair spray. This will help the look hold as you move around throughout the day.
