Fake eyelashes are held in place by using a special adhesive glue. You should never sleep in your fake eyelashes. Once you loosen and remove the eyelashes, you want to ensure you also remove all the glue. Doing so helps you maintain the health of your natural eyelashes, giving you a natural daytime look and something to which you can adhere your fake eyelashes the next time you wear them.

Fake eyelashes make your lashes look longer and thicker.
Cotton balls are a gentle applicator, safe to use in the eye area.

Soak a cotton ball in eye-makeup remover. Squeeze out any excess remover so it does not get in your eyes. Close your eyes and gently wipe the cotton ball across your fake eyelashes, starting at the outer corner and working your way to the inner corner.

Step 2

Allow the eye-makeup remover to sit on your fake eyelashes for a minute or so giving it a chance to loosen the adhesive. Gently pull your fake eyelashes loose from the outer edge. If they are still adhered at any point, apply more eye-makeup remover and wait a minute before you resume removing the fake eyelashes.

Step 3

Soak a cotton swab in eye-makeup remover and blot the excess off on a towel. Dab the cotton swab on the fake eyelash glue that remains on your lash line.

Step 4

Dampen a clean wash cloth with warm water and wipe it across your lash line to remove the eye- makeup remover and eyelash glue.

Step 5

Remove any last traces of fake eyelash glue from your eye area by wiping petroleum jelly across the adhesive using a cotton swab. Gently wipe your eye with a clean, damp wash cloth to remove the petroleum jelly and final traces of eyelash glue.
