Sweet peach liqueur, silky nectar and brisk vodka are enlivened with a splash of citrus to create the velvety smooth peach martini. The addition of peach nectar -- a blend of pureed peaches, sugar and water -- give this drink body and added sweetness. To make this lively libation, use a cocktail shaker and serve it straight up in a 6-ounce cocktail glass.
This recipe has been adapted from the Peachtree martini.
- 2 ounces vodka
- 1 ounce peach Schnapps
- 1 ounce peach nectar
- ½ ounce orange juice
- 1 slice of fresh peach
- 1 thin slice of fresh orange
The measurements of liquors and juices can be adjusted to suit your taste. To create a stronger, less-sweet libation, replace 1/2 ounce of the peach schnapps with 1/2 ounce additional plain vodka. For a more citrus-infused cocktail, swap 1/2 ounce added orange juice for 1/2 ounce of the peach nectar and garnish the drink with a lime wedge to further enhance the citrus taste.
Add ice to the martini glass to chill it while you make the cocktail.
Thread the slice of peach and the slice of orange onto a decorative cocktail pick or a small skewer.
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the vodka, peach Schnapps, peach nectar and orange juice. Secure the lid and shake the ingredients for 10 seconds.
Pour the ice out from the martini glass. Then strain the liquor into the glass. Garnish the libation with the fresh fruit slices.
A variation on the lush peach martini from Drinks Mixer, only calls for two ingredients.
Mix 3 ounces of peach-flavored vodka with ½ ounce of orange liqueur in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake the liquid vigorously and then strain into a martini glass. Garnish the drink with a slice of peach, a twist of lemon or a thin wedge of orange.
