80’s fashion is something that comes back often, whether it be leggings or off-the-shoulder shirts. This does not mean you have to go out and buy a new wardrobe. Creating an 80’s off-the-shoulder shirt only takes 5 to 10 minutes and can be done with any old T-shirt you already own. So get out those T-shirts you haven’t been wearing, grab a pair of scissors and start creating stylish new shirts out of shirts already in your closet.
Things You'll Need
Lay the T-shirt on a flat surface.
Cut a small slit on each shoulder of your T-shirt right next to the sleeves’ seams, as well as a two-inch slit down the middle of the neckline.
Start from the slit you made on the left shoulder and cut the front of the shirt (do not cut through the back; this will make your neckline too wide) in a semicircular pattern until you reach your neck slit. Repeat this step from the right side.
Cut the back of the shirt as close to the collar as possible, again starting from one of your shoulder slits but this time going all the way across to the other.
Cut the sleeve starting from the outside and going up toward your shoulder. Stop about one inch away from your new neckline.
Cut of the bottom seam right above the hem going through both the front and back of the shirt.
Get creative. Try slitting up the back or sides of your shirt for a more edgy look.
