The Field Roast Grain Meat Co., a food manufacturer based in Seattle, produces a line of vegetarian grain meat products made with items such as potatoes, wheat gluten, apples, garlic and a variety of savory spices. Field Roast sausages are available in Italian, Mexican Chipotle and Smoked Apple Sage flavors. The meatless sausages take only minutes prepare and can be added to sauces, soups, casseroles, salads, fajitas and quesadillas. Simply fry the sausages until they are browned and serve them alongside or in your favorite dishes.

Remove the plastic casing from the sausages by snipping one end of it with scissors. Use a knife to cut down half of the length of the casing and peel it off of the sausages.

Pour olive oil into a non-stick frying pan and warm it over medium heat. Add the sausages to the pan.

Keep the heat on "medium" and fry the sausages until they are golden brown. Turn the sausages frequently to ensure they are cooked evenly. Avoid overcooking the sausages.

Serve the sauteed sausages whole or break them up with a spoon or spatula if you plan on using them in a casserole or sauce.
