The original seat belt purse, fashioned from actual seat belt material, is the brainchild of Dana and Melanie Harvey. They own Harveys, an online sales and distribution center for the Seatbeltbag. While Harveys’ motto is “Guaranteed Tough,” its bags don’t escape the need for occasional cleaning.
Things You'll Need
Place 1 drop of mild liquid dish soap on a soft-bristled toothbrush. Rub the soiled areas of the purse with the soap-covered toothbrush bristles.
Blot the area with a damp, absorbent lint-free cloth.
If stains remain, pour 1/2 teaspoon of pure acetone into a small container. Dip a section of a clean, absorbent cloth into the acetone.
Blot stained areas of the seatbelt purse with the acetone-soaked cloth, then blot the same areas with another section of the cloth soaked in water.
Allow the purse to air-dry completely in a well-ventilated area.
