When you want to wear styles that show off your shoulders, a strapless bra is helpful for providing lift. While it's tempting to wear strapless styles without a bra, it's difficult to create the right shape without some undergarment help. Here are a few easy things you can do to give yourself homemade support while keeping your shoulders bare.

Modified Brassieres

Try wearing a regular underwire bra or corset, but fold the straps down over your shoulders and tuck the straps into the side support of the bra. To maintain a smooth finish, keep the strap flat and follow the line of your body. This is the quickest way to make your own strapless bra.

Stretchy Bands

Take a stretchy hair band, two to four inches in width, and pull it around the bust to provide simple coverage while remaining strap-free. This allows you to keep the silhouette of your body natural-looking while giving you support for a strapless style.

For more casual attire, a square piece of material, such as a handkerchief, can be draped around the bust and fastened together in the back. A knot will keep the material secure, or you can use a safety pin to close the material together.
