Welcome to our new mini series: Smoothies with Intention! We’re sharing recipes for smoothies that can replenish you after *specific* workouts that tire out different parts of your body.

This post-yoga replenishment is literally an apple pie in your mouth (except, really healthy). There’s a good amount of protein from the almond butter and milk, and fiber from the skin of the apple. You also get an extra boost of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory benefits from the spices! No matter how intense (or relaxing) your yoga practice is, it’s really important to support your muscles and joints afterwards. If you’re doing a really intense form of yoga (like ashtanga vinyasa), add some protein powder to make it complete. Here’s how it’s done:

Ingredients:
1 apple, cored & sliced
1/2 frozen banana
1/2 – 1 tbsp almond butter
Pinch of cinnamon
Pinch of nutmeg
Pinch of ground ginger
1 cup unsweetened almond milk

Instructions:

  1. Blend all ingredients in the blender
  2. Pour & enjoy!
