Welcome to our new mini series: Smoothies with Intention! We’re sharing recipes for smoothies that can replenish you after specific workouts that tire out different parts of your body. This post-yoga replenishment is literally an apple pie in your mouth (except, really healthy). There's a good amount of protein from the almond butter and milk, and fiber from the skin of the apple. You also get an extra boost of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory benefits from the spices! No matter how intense (or relaxing) your yoga practice is, it's really important to support your muscles and joints afterwards. If you're doing a really intense form of yoga (like ashtanga vinyasa), add some protein powder to make it complete.
Here's how it's done:
- 1 apple, cored & sliced
- 1/2 frozen banana
- 1/2 - 1 tbsp almond butter
- Pinch of cinnamon
- Pinch of nutmeg
- Pinch of ground ginger
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- Blend all ingredients in the blender
- Pour & enjoy!
