Fresh artichoke hearts (as opposed to canned) are one of our favorite snacks. We teamed up with Aliza from the Poppyseed Ageny to solve the mystery of how to remove the hearts yourself. Here’s the step-by-step:

1. Pull off each leaf until you reach the base
2. Peel excess rough patches on the stem & base
3. Cut off top of artichoke & end of stem
4. Slice in half
4. Place in cold water with lemon juice for 5 mins & rinse
5. Boil for 45 mins
6. Remove choke
7. DONE!
