Why is it that omelettes always seem to be the toughest egg dish to really get right? Luckily, we have the secret sauce for the PERFECT basic omelette. All you need is a little dash of shredded cheese and chives, and you're good to go. Simple is better, right? If not... you can up the amount of eggs used and add in your favorite fillings.
Here's how it's done:
2 eggs 1/2 tbsp butter Shredded cheddar cheese (or your cheese of choice) Freshly chopped chives
- Crack 2 eggs and whisk together until thoroughly blended.
- Pre-heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat and add butter, once melted, add the egg mixture and cook for 3-4 minutes.
- Continue shaping the omelette with your spatula.
- Add the cheddar cheese and chopped chives to one side of the omelette, then gently fold the empty half over.
