Golden Turmeric Milk

If you haven't started incorporating the amazing super food that is Turmeric to your diet--what are you waiting for? This incredible root has shocking amounts of antioxidants, manganese, iron, healthy fats and anti-inflammatory compounds. It has been used for centuries to fight inflammation in the body, from blemishes to over-worked muscles. This wellness latte, inspired by Nutrition Stripped, is an incredibly delicious recipe that works as a great night cap.

Here's how it's done:

Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp + 1/2 tbsp coconut oil (separated)
  • 2 cups almond milk
  • 1 tbsp raw honey

Instructions:

  1. Add ground turmeric, cinnamon, black pepper, 1 tsp of coconut oil, and almond milk into a medium pot. Bring to a simmer over medium-low heat for 20 minutes, stirring occassionally.
  2. Off heat, remove cinnamon stick and stir in honey.
  3. Pour into a blender and add another 1/2 tbsp coconut oil. Blend on low until frothy.
  4. Pour & ENJOY!
