Welcome to our new mini series: Smoothies with Intention! We’re sharing recipes for smoothies that can replenish you after *specific* workouts that tire out different parts of your body.

Crossfit is a composition of serious high intensity workouts, strength building and stretching. Because a lot of “quick movements” like jumping are incorporated, the muscles can fatigue quickly (and build up! ?). After you finish, your body needs a really good replenishment – one that is going to feed your muscles and provide loads of nutrition.

This smoothie includes plant-based protein powder and hemp seeds, which are super high in plant-based protein. It also includes the star ingredient: turmeric! Turmeric is a natural anti-inflammatory, which can help the healing process of any tears your muscles might be going through. There’s also a serving of coconut oil for good measure of healthy fats for continuous energy the rest of the day. Here’s how it’s made:

Ingredients:
1 cup coconut milk
1/2-1 frozen banana
1/2 tsp ground turmeric
1 tsp coconut oil
1 tbsp vanilla protein powder
1 tsp hemp seeds
Dollop of raw honey

Instructions:

  1. Add all ingredients into your blender
  2. Blend up and enjoy right after your Crossfit workout!
