With Starbucks using approximately 4 billion cups a year, as of 2014, and most recycling centers unable to recycle the iconic paper cups, using a reusable tumbler is an environmentally sound decision. A tumbler that is cared for properly can last for years and save hundreds of cups from the landfill. Luckily, caring for a Starbucks Coffee Tumbler takes only minutes and is simple to do.

Open and unscrew the lid and pour any leftover beverage out of the tumbler. Always hand wash it in hot water with soap and rinse thoroughly.

Allow the tumbler to air dry, upside down.

Stop before the bottom thread when refilling your Starbucks Coffee Tumbler to prevent the cup from leaking after you put the cap on.

Warning

Never freeze, overfill, microwave or use the tumbler with carbonated liquids. Do not wash it with cleaners containing bleach or chlorine. Always hold your Starbucks Coffee Tumbler around the middle and release pressure caused by steaming beverages when sealing or removing the lid by opening the lid closure tab.
