Uneven skin tone plagues people of all ages and skin types, and products for making the skin lighter or creating a more even tone make up a large part of the skin care industry. Most of these products are designed for the face, but many people have uneven skin tone in other places on their bodies. For example, many people have an uneven skin tone on their feet from sun exposure. Natural, inexpensive skin whitening treatments can be used at home to help with this problem.

Things You'll Need

White Vinegar

Mix 1 tbsp. of white vinegar with 1 tbsp. of water.

Apply the solution evenly to the top of the foot with a cotton ball.

Allow solution to remain on foot for 10 minutes.

Rinse off with cold water.

Repeat treatment daily for faster results.

Gram Flour

Mix 2 tbsp. of gram flour with 1 tsp. of turmeric powder.

Add a few drops of lemon juice and milk cream to the mixture and stir.

Apply the paste to the top of the foot with a cotton ball.

Allow the paste to dry. This can take anywhere from 5 minutes to 15 minutes.

Scrub off dry paste with a damp washcloth.

Rinse skin clean in lukewarm water.

Repeat this treatment weekly if desired.

Olive Oil and Sugar

Mix 1 tbsp. of pure virgin olive oil with 1 tbsp. of granulated sugar.

Apply solution to dark spots on the feet with a cotton ball. Use a firm, circular motion when applying solution.

Allow the mixture to remain on the foot for 3 minutes.

Rinse off the paste thoroughly with lukewarm water.

Repeat treatment daily if desired.


  • 2 tbsp. of buttermilk applied to the skin weekly can also whiten feet.
