Wavy hair can be difficult to style because it is naturally frizzy. Weather, static in the air and humidity can affect the appearance of how wavy hair looks after you style it. You don’t have to pay a large sum of money to straighten your hair. You can work with your waves. Follow these steps to learn how to style wavy hair.
Shampoo your hair no more than every other day. Excessive shampooing makes wavy hair very dry and frizzy. If you can get away with it, shampoo twice a week unless you have oily hair.
Condition your hair every day. Massage the top of your head with your fingertips to remove excess build-up and oil. Use a shower comb to remove tangles then rinse your hair.
Squeeze excess water from your hair. While your hair is wet, add a small amount of straightening serum and glossing serum to the palm of your hand. Rub your hands together and apply to your hair in small sections.
Twist individual sections of hair around your finger. Hold for about 15 seconds then release. Perform this step until all of your hair is in ringlets.
Diffuse your hair with a blow dryer and diffuser attachment. You can get diffuser attachments from hair salons, beauty supply stores or online at places like Folica. Hang your head upside down while drying. When completely dry, spray your wavy hair with an anti-frizz spray.
If you don’t have time to perform all of the steps, just wash your hair and comb through it with your fingers. Squeeze out the water and apply a leave-in conditioner and gel. Allow it to air dry.
