Sandals are great for summer because they are open and they prevent your feet from sweating. Sandals come in a variety of designs, colors and sizes. Usually, your standard shoe size is the size of your sandals. However, if you plan on purchasing custom sandals, a measurement is needed to get the correct fit. With the right tools you can measure your feet and get the correct sandal size.

Place the sheets of paper on a flat surface, such as a floor. One sheet of paper is for the left foot and one is for the right. The paper should be larger than your foot; ledger size paper should work perfectly.

Tape the sheets of paper to the floor so that they stay securely in place.

Place your foot on the sheet of paper and trace your foot along the sides, with the pencil. Make sure that the pencil is snug at your foot so that you get an accurate line. To make this process easier, you can use a template, obtained online, that indicates where to place your foot.

Measure the traced foot from the heel to the toe. You can use a ruler or measuring tape. Do this for both feet. Record the measurements.

Measure the circumference of the foot by wrapping measuring tape around the top of the foot, the instep of the foot, and the area at the heel. Record each measurement.

Consult a shoe-size conversion chart to determine your sandal size.
