There are all kinds of products on the market that claim to plump and smooth your lips, including cosmetic injections and even surgical implants to make your lips fuller. You can make your own lip plumper at home for a fraction of the cost and lovely results. To make lip plumper at home, you only need a few common items. The results are not permanent, but you can use your lip plumper as often as you like to have beautiful full lips all day long.

Things You'll Need

Add 1/8 tsp each of ground ginger and cayenne pepper to 2 tsp of melted coconut oil. These spices will sting a little, and will dilate the blood vessels in your lips. The dilation of the blood vessels in your lips makes your lips look more full and plump, and gives them a nice color.

Add 1 drop of peppermint essential oil, which gives the gloss a cooling effect. You will need something to cool your lips because the cayenne and ginger may burn a little.

Pour the lip plumper mixture into your airtight container and keep in a cool place.

  • Recycle old lip balm tins to store your plumper in.

  • To help solidify the lip plumper mixture, add a little beeswax to the mix.

  • You can find essential oils, coconut oil and beeswax at health food stores and at health food suppliers online. Remember, you only need a little for this recipe.

  • The key to smoother lips is hydration. Drink plenty of water.

  • Add a little honey to your lip plumper to sweeten the taste.

  • Apply your lip plumper with a cotton swab to avoid getting cayenne and ginger on your fingers.

  • For a simple lip plumper, add five or six drops of cinnamon essential oil to your favorite lip gloss.
