As you plan the menu for a meal on the fly, you manage to cover all bases, except desert. A frozen pumpkin pie catches your eye. If you have some dry milk in the pantry, you’ll have a complete dessert.

Things You'll Need

Chill a bowl and the beaters for the mixer in the freezer for about 30 minutes, or until they’re very cold.

Combine 1 cup of instant milk and 1 cup of iced water in the chilled bowl.

Beat the milk until stiff with the chilled beaters. You can stop here and have a healthy sugar-free version of whipped cream or continue to the next step for a sweeter treat.

Add 4 teaspoons of sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla to the milk. Beat the mixture until it’s blended.

Serve the whipped cream immediately on top of that pie. You also can use it with fruit, cakes, cookies or ice cream


  • For a little variation, shave some chocolate on the whipped cream.
