Colorful and cheap, UV Blue vodka is a welcome party guest, especially for those who like a sweet rush. The liquor company offers a variety of its own recipes, but fans of the lively libation have created their own favorites. UV Blue’s raspberry flavor combines well with lemonade to create a slushy that packs a punch at a party.

  • 2 cups crushed ice

  • 3 shots UV Blue vodka

  • 8 ounces lemonade

  • 2 sprigs of mint

  • 2 lemon slices, slit on one side

  • 4 fresh raspberries

In a blender, combine the ice, vodka and lemonade and blend until smooth. Pour into two tall glasses and garnish each with a sprig of mint and a couple of raspberries. Slip a lemon slice over the edge of each glass and serve with big Slurpee-style straws. Those little cocktail straws just won’t do.

Add even more punch to your cool drink with a shot of blue curacao. It adds a hint of orange and spice and makes the flavor a bit more complex. If you find it too sweet, squeeze a little fresh lemon into the mix and hit the blender one more time.

Turn your slushy purple by replacing one of the cups of ice with a cup of frozen raspberries or strawberries. It’s your choice to use sweetened or unsweetened berries.

Instead of a tall glass, serve your slushy in a margarita glass or a martini glass. Cut the fat milkshake straws in half or in proportion to the size of the glass and stick in a little paper umbrella. Voila! Pretend you’re on vacation.

Serve with an easy appetizer made by placing a dollop of sour cream or creme fraiche on a sesame cracker — or cracker of your choice — and topping with a fresh raspberry and a small basil leaf.
