Jamba Juice smoothies, made with fruit and other natural ingredients, can give you a quick, healthy lift. But if you're pressed for time, you may not finish your smoothie. To enjoy it later, put it in the freezer; it's simple to thaw it out to drink when you have time. You will, however, have to plan several hours in advance to defrost it. You cannot just stick it in the microwave.
Remove the Jamba Juice smoothie from the freezer and place it in an open plastic sandwich bag or on a saucer. Then put it in the refrigerator. The plastic bag or saucer will keep condensation from the defrosting smoothie from dripping in the refrigerator and making a mess.
Allow the smoothie to defrost for several hours. Letting it thaw overnight in the refrigerator is a good option, and convenient if you want the smoothie for breakfast.
Stir the thawing smoothie from time to time. There is no set schedule for doing this, but it helps the smoothie defrost evenly.
Tip
This method can be used for defrosting any brand of smoothie, even if you make them yourself.
Warning
Do not microwave a frozen smoothie. Microwaving turns a smoothie into a watery concoction in which the ingredients separate into layers and become mushy.
Consume a defrosted smoothie immediately. Otherwise, bacteria can grow in it and possible cause illness.
