A lot of men have their hair cut with a razor. However, some men don't want hair that's shaved and prefer a trim or a shaggy cut. A man can achieve neatly groomed hair when a pair of scissors is taken to it.

Make sure that the man is sitting in a chair. Wrap a bathroom towel around his shoulders and have him hold a paper towel for any hair locks that may fall.

Comb the man's hair so any knots are worked out of it. Make sure the hair is parted is his normal fashion.

Start cutting his hair in sections. Starting at the nape of the neck, run your hand up, forcing his hair between your fingers. Start trimming his hair in snippets, starting with small sections, then snipping away at larger pieces if necessary. This will ensure that the hair will lie down neatly.

Repeat step three over the entire head, except the bangs.

Trim his bangs. Have the man close his eyes. Comb his bangs down. Trim the bangs to the center of his eyebrows or to the length he wishes his hair to be.

Comb his hair once more to shake loose any excess hair. Style as normal.

Tips

  • Make sure your hair scissors are sharp. If they aren't, you may end up sawing at your hair and damaging the ends.
