The Shreveport, Louisiana, area has a handful of gay bars. Each bar offers something different for patrons, giving the GLBT (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transsexual) community some diverse options for a night on the town. These bars aren’t limited to gay patrons only but do cater more strongly to them.



Central Station

Central Station is a gay bar in Shreveport with a number of events offered for guests. The bar stays open from 5 p.m.-6 a.m. every day and a happy hour deal is offered from the opening at five until 7:30 p.m. The bar does charge a cover after 9 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays but Sunday through Thursday is cover free. Central Station has drink deals most nights and has a dance floor. Fridays and Saturdays feature a drag show at midnight, while Tuesdays are reserved for karaoke.

The Korner Lounge

Called the “Cheers” bar by some, The Korner Lounge is a laid-back bar that allows friends to relax and enjoy a few drinks without the noise of a dance floor. The lounge shows music videos on the TV screens. The Korner Lounge is open from 3 p.m. to 2 a.m. seven days a week and also offers a happy hour every day from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. The Korner Lounge also hosts a karaoke night on Mondays and Thursdays. The karaoke fun starts at 9 p.m. on both days.

Never Never Land

Never Never Land is a small lesbian bar in Shreveport. The bar is open to any patrons but simply gears itself to appeal to gay women more. The bar is open Tuesday through Friday from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. Saturdays the bar does not open until 6 p.m. Karaoke is a fixture at Never Never Land and offered anytime. Happy hour is only offered on weekdays and lasts from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Only three bars in Shreveport are officially gay, but if you are willing to take a drive, you can find other gay bars in Monroe and Alexandria. Both towns are about a 90-minute drive away.
