It is officially Springtime in the Northern Hemisphere, a season associated with fertility and new growth. This month we are back to one Full Moon and one New Moon, both of which are ruled by the planet Mars. Despite the retrograde that dominates the first half of the month until the New Moon on the 15th, things are moving very fast. Right now, you can and will make anything happen that you put your full force of energy behind. Use the first half of the month (the period of Mercury Retrograde) to make precise plans that pinpoint exactly what you want and how you are going to get there. Once Mercury returns to its forward-motion there is no stopping it, or you, and clarity will be absolutely key to your success. Find out more about what you, specifically, should be working on through the Sun and Rising sign horoscopes below.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

You’ve made it to another birthday, Aries! Welcome to your New Year. Aries season began with a Mercury retrograde in your sign, this year, which created a drag on the energy of your lightening-fast approach to life. Contrary to how you might feel about this, the signal to slow down and look back is a blessing. Consider taking a staycation and reminiscing on all you have accomplished since you were in diapers at some point this month. Keeping your eye on the prize is your specialty, but sometimes your head is so far into the game you forget why you’re playing. Schedule in space to breathe and come back to your purpose. Mercury stations direct on your New Moon on the 15th and kicks everything back into high gear shortly after, just the way you like it. Stick to staying as present and intentional as possible, this month and beyond, and this Solar Return will be most rewarding.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

There is a slow-build happening right now for you, Taurus, as the energy steadily moves in your direction. Right now, everything is at your speed: on the way, but not quite here yet. The first half of this month, and particularly during the remainder of the retrograde, take advantage of the fact that nothing is directly being asked of you yet to make plans that honor your pace. Once the Solar Return spotlight is on you there will be nowhere to run. This is a good thing but it won’t feel like it if you are caught off-guard. This month, figure out your own pace of progress. What projects are your trying to push and how long do those sorts of commitments take you to execute? When you have your answer, make a rigid agreement to a set amount of time and resources and get to it. If the 15th hits and you’re at a stand-still, anxiety may start to build. So, think ahead, start slow and believe in your ability to make a grand finish on whatever you decide to start.

Gemini (May 21-June 21)

Your mind and emotions may be pulling you in multiple directions before the fiery effects of this and last month’s retrograde start to settle. To keep some form of order, take up journaling or some other form of brain-release that can still hold the brilliant ideas that may come from all of the chaos. A little after Mercury stations direct on the 15th, you will be able to finally gather yourself and get back to work. When you do, look back at what you wrote or how you felt during the retrograde. Take note of any nostalgia or regret that may have surfaced and do your best to try and address it honestly. Know that your progress has no expiration date. If you need to take a little time to reflect and clear your mind, you should, as your work and relationships will be better for it. Time is always on your side, Gemini. Don’t rush through your personal process just for the sake of what you offer to the public. Everything goes hand and hand and nothing is more important than your peace of mind.

Cancer (June 22-July 22)

Your ruler, the Moon, settles back into its routine this month but this does not necessarily give you a break. Aries naturally challenges your comfort level which may have you feeling like a soft-shelled crab with nowhere to run or hide. This is where you should be. It is time to push yourself, Cancer. Spring hath Sprung and it is offering you the opportunity to make good on the promises you’ve made to commit more deeply to yourself and what you want. When Aries season pushes on you, push back by standing up and meeting the challenges you are facing head-on. Use any time you take to be alone to make plans for progress. Best case scenario, the work you do now will push you to stand stronger in yourself and your convictions and push you through some challenges that have been lingering for far too long. Worst case scenario, you learn more deeply about your weaknesses and know what you need to nurture. Either way, you’ll grow. So, commit, Cancer. You are the only thing standing in your way.

Leo (July 23-August 22)

Your fiery friend Aries has stepped on the scene full force, and whenever they get to shine, you do, too. Use the excitement of Spring season to find your full confidence and map out what kind of success you want to see yourself achieve this season. Uranus conjoins your ruler, the Sun, on the 18th and invites innovative energy to the table to help you find your voice and best path forward. Don’t be afraid to network and ask for help with your big ideas. Knowing you have people on your side is what helps you to venture outside of your comfort zone. Use the rest of the retrograde season (1-15th) to create a thorough roadmap, check it twice, and then make plans for step-by-step execution as the rest of April unfolds. Your ideas and dreams deserve to take up space in the physical world where other people can be inspired and learn from them. Believe in yourself and what you have to offer enough to ask for help where there are gaps in your abilities to rightly execute your vision and you are sure to make something you can be proud of.

Virgo (August 23-Sept 22)

While your ruling planet continues to retreat at the beginning of this month, direction and motivation may seem hard to harness. Aries season brings attention to the parts of you that you would often rather ignore than address, but this retrograde actually gives you an opportunity to assess the strength in your weaknesses. As delays and miscommunications fluster you until Mercury stations direct on the 15th, use every mishap as a chance to dig deeper into your reactions. Once you hit the root of each frustration, not only can you have more compassion for yourself, but everything also becomes much clearer and therefore easier to address. Your biggest challenge will be your willingness to face whatever arises from your self-awareness and your actual commitment to doing the work of healing whatever you may find there. Once the Sun shines through your sister-sign of Taurus, starting on the 19th, both Mercury and the Sun will come to meet you at your new point of progress and will be your allies in moving with tenacity towards new success.

Libra (Sept 23-Oct 22)

We have now entered Aries season which means you are celebrating a half-birthday. This indicates the occurrence of the Full Moon in your home sign (which happened on March 31st) and a New Moon in your opposing sign, while Mercury’s retrograde hits your house of relationships. Contrary to how it may seem, this retrograde is a grand universal gift for you, Libra. Your balanced nature often causes you to struggle to find ways to rely on your own unique problem-solving path, but the retrograde can and will foil your plans to outsource any of this kind of work, and this is where the magic happens. It is your time to turn inward, Libra, and find what kind of process of elimination works most prominently in your favor. The purge the Full Moon in your sign offered you made room for a wealth of new opportunities. As these opportunities begin to present themselves this month, try to give yourself time to decide what is right or wrong for you before anyone even knows what you’ve been pondering. This process will offer you much more confidence and ownership over your success and set your Spring garden up to flourish with endless possibility.

Scorpio (Oct 23-Nov 21)

Aries sets a fiery tone for this season and it is time for you to step up to the plate. You and Aries are ruled by the same planet, but you often embody the more subtle side of Mars. As this season continues to unfold, try and allow yourself to embody the physicality of how Mars appears in Aries. Engage your physical body in activities that require aggression, assertion and drive. Really settle into how these ways of being make you feel and notice how they can help you in all areas of your life. Your power and influence are immense, but their intensity may end up overwhelming you if you do not figure out how to allow them manifest in a way that materially benefits you. Do not fear your own power or what others may think when you start to display it, Scorpio. You were given your intensity to make it work in your, and the world's, favor. If you stifle your inner flame, everyone around you is missing out on its potential, including you. Utilize the retrograde season to test using the newfound fire in the areas in your life that could use your own brand of Aries energy and then makes plans on the New Moon for how you are going to maintain the flame.

Sagittarius (Nov 22-Dec 21)

As Aries season sets in, you now get a shot of fire energy to boost you. Last month was the preparation for this month’s journey (and you love a good journey). Allow April to be a wandering month for you. Experiment with new things you can get your hands into and make something interesting with. You now have permission to explore, but make sure to still schedule it in. At least a boundary of when, where and for how long you will allow yourself time to travel will take both the anxiety and aimlessness out of the adventure. The goal here is exposure and spontaneity. Spend lots of time asking questions and moving in ways you never have before. Don’t take time for granted. Aries is your #1 support in feeding what you love and have passion for. Give yourself free reign to either sharpen and up-level a skill you may have left behind or find a new trade to get lost in for a little while. Taking your mind off of the mundane and punctual parts of your life regularly, just for a little while, is guaranteed to enhance your work life. So, this month, allow yourself some space to play.

Capricorn (Dec 22-Jan 19)

In the beginning of this month, the party at your house is still raging as the Moon, Mars, Saturn, and Pluto remain in your sign until the 9th. Use this period as a point of celebration and take a moment to reiterate how far you have come. These heavy-hitters in your sign can make you feel bogged down with responsibility as if there is some kind of rush to the finish line. The remedy for this will be to continuously turn inward, to rewire your brain to focus on your version of success alone. You have built your own lane for yourself, Capricorn, and no one can do what you do like you do it. Let your individuality be the solid foundation for you to stand on and make sure to surround yourself with reminders of who you are as you continue to create. Spring is an exciting time. Try take advantage of the season by boosting your confidence and embracing flexibility. Once retrograde ends and Taurus season begins, there is no limit on how far the newfound hope and commitment will take you.

Aquarius (Jan 20-Feb 18)

The Full Moon joins Jupiter in your tenth house of social position and career this month and it’s time to talk legacy. You are known for your eccentricity and fondness for fantasy and you can be quite the dreamer. All of these qualities make for an incredibly interesting life and will all help to inform the story you leave behind you. Your Solar Return year is just getting started and now is the time to think both micro and macro legacy. What do you want to be able to say about this year when you look back in 2019? And in the long-term, what do you want to to be able to say about your larger life and place in history? These are big questions, Aquarius, but once you find the answers each year you can become grounded in, and therefore move farther along, your grand plan. This will not only help to inhibit any aimlessness but it will also serve as your guiding light and help you to zero in on how every move you make represents your larger values. Thinking universal is your specialty, let this Spring push you to figure out what your place is in the larger picture.

Pisces (Feb 19-March 20)

Your season caused quite a commotion in the world this year, Pisces, as everyone else got a taste of what your energy really feels like. Now that the planets have moved to your second house of material worth and self-image, it is time to find your anchor for the year. Ask yourself some questions about what you value and how you want those things to take up space in your life as this solar year continues to unfold. Sometimes, you can get lost in the past or in your own anxiety about the future, but neither of these things serve where you are in the present. Find activities that connect your mind and body and try to implement them into your weekly routine to help you keep your peace. It can be as simple as mindful breathing or as strenuous as a 10-mile bike ride. Find something to help you keep your mind and your body aligned as this may be the key to accelerate your productivity and keep your eye on the prize, pushing you farther along the path you seek to pave.
