Brightly colored frosting can add an appealing touch to any desert. It gives the food a fun and artistic edge, and attracts people to admire the work of the baker and try it out. Frosting is typically hand colored, with the color added after the frosting has been carefully mixed together. Frosting can be colored bright blue by following a few simple steps.

Measure out 2 cups of frosting in a measuring cup.

Place the uncolored frosting into an open bowl or container.

Measure 1/4 tsp. of regular blue food coloring. Pour the coloring into the frosting.

Repeat step 3 five times.

Stir the frosting with a spoon until it is completely colored with deep blue.

Measure 1/2 tsp. of regular green food coloring. Pour this into the frosting.

Stir the frosting with a spoon until it turns a bright blue color.

Add more green food coloring, a 1/4 tsp. at a time to make the blue color brighter, if necessary.
