Coconut oil will help to prevent frizz and add moisture to dry hair. The oil also restores the hair’s natural shine and strength and can help get rid of dandruff. Instead of applying a commercial conditioning product to your hair, use coconut oil because it does not contain harsh additives or chemicals that can harm your hair. Apply the coconut oil to your hair as needed to keep hair healthy and lustrous.
Rinse hair thoroughly with warm water. Dry off excess water from hair with a towel.
Place a small amount of coconut oil into the palm of your hand. Work it into your hair by massaging the oil into the scalp and the tips of the hair. Apply more coconut oil until you cover all of your hair, but try to keep the amount small so hair does not get too greasy.
Run a comb through the hair. This will distribute the coconut oil.
Place a damp towel into the dryer for five to 10 minutes. Remove from dryer and wrap the towel around your hair, leaving it in place for 30 minutes or more.
Remove the towel, and wash your hair with shampoo to get rid of any oil build-up or grease.
Warning
Avoid rubbing the coconut oil into your roots to prevent your hair from looking greasy.
