By Cesar Castro

Old Spice deodorant is one of many bath products manufactured by Procter & Gamble. The company creates shampoos, conditioners and shaving kits designed for men. Their Old Spice deodorant is especially effective against warding off bad body odors. However, to reap the full benefits of the deodorant, you need to undergo a few preparations before use.

Step 1

Take a thorough shower. Old Spice deodorant works by targeting the bacteria that eat dead skin cells. The gas released by the bacteria is what gives stinky people their bad stench. The deodorant will also help ward off excessive sweating -- a common ingredient in smelly armpits. Make sure to use a loofah doused with your favorite body cleanser. Scrub away at the surface of the skin.

Step 2

Mix some baking soda into your body cleanser. If your armpits are notorious for being excessively smelly, then baking soda will hep cut down on the smell. Mix some baking soda and body cleanser into your hand. Rub the mixture into your damp armpits. Allow the mixture to sit on your armpits for a few minutes. This is a good time to continue with other parts of your shower regimen.

Step 3

Rinse your armpits and the rest of your body. Focus on removing all of the residue from your armpits. Step out of the shower and completely dry your armpits with a clean towel.

Step 4

Remove the cap of the Old Spice deodorant. Blot the exposed stick onto your armpit. Apply the Old Spice deodorant until there is a light film of the product on your armpit. Close your armpits.
