Matrix Color Sync hair color is classified as a demi-permanent hair dye. This means that the hair dye only slightly penetrates the hair shaft and usually only lasts about six to eight weeks. There is also no demarcation line (the line that usually appears between the natural hair color and the dyed hair). Thus, the hair color is truly uniform throughout each strand and looks more natural than other types of hair dyes, including the semi-permanents and permanents. Keep in mind that since it is demi-permanent, the Matrix Color Sync hair dye will only last a few weeks and your gray hair will begin to show again after a few washings.
Mix the Matrix Color Sync applicator with the dye, using the tint brush, in a plastic bowl until the mixture is uniform. Make sure to put on your latex gloves to prevent the dye from coloring your hands.
Pick up a generous amount of the Matrix Color Sync hair dye with the tint brush and apply it all over your hair. Start at the roots and slowly work your way down until all of your gray hair is covered with the dye.
Allow the dye to set into your hair for about 20 to 30 minutes. Cover your hair with a shower cap to prevent the dye from leaking.
Rinse out the dye with warm water. Apply the conditioner that comes with the Matrix Color Sync hair dye kit all over your hair and let it sit for about five minutes.
Rinse out the conditioner and allow hair to air dry. Letting your hair dry naturally will help it retain more shine than blow-drying it. Once your hair is dry, style as usual.
Mix some hair conditioner in with the Matrix Color Sync dye. This will help your gray hair grab the color more easily. Apply some Vaseline onto your ears and forehead to prevent the dye from coloring your skin.
