Thick toenails can be caused by a variety of reasons, including skin conditions, fungus or certain toe injuries. Nails also can take on a yellow color. There are a variety of ways to thin toenails.
Soak your feet in a tub of warm water for 15 to 20 minutes . Then file the top layers of your toenails with an emery board or a nail buffer.
Purchase a nail grinding tool. Use the tool according to product directions to thin your toenails. For severe cases, consult a physician and asked to be prescribed medication to treat your toenails.
Prevent the fungal infection that causes thick toenails by wearing the proper footwear in shower rooms. Do not walk barefoot and keep your feet clean.
