Peanut butter and chocolate are classically paired flavors and brownies with peanut butter sauce are yet another variation of this combination. Peanut butter itself needs to be thinned and made into a sauce before it can complement the brownies. Making and keeping peanut butter into a pourable consistency takes just a couple of ingredients and a few minutes to create.
Place the sugar, corn syrup and butter or shortening in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until it just begins to boil.
Remove pan from heat. Stir in peanut butter and milk and return to heat.
Stir until sauce just begins to boil again and peanut butter is melted into sauce. Remove from heat.
Add the vanilla to the sauce and stir. Serve warm over the fresh baked brownies.
