How to Moisturize Extremely Dry Hair

By LeafTV Contributor

Dealing with extremely dry hair can be frustrating, especially when you've bought products that are supposed to help but don't. Look to natural moisturizers to create a simple hair mask that will nourish very dry or damaged hair overnight.

Restore moisture to even the driest hair with natural ingredients.

Step 1

Cut open an avocado and remove the seed. Scoop out the avocado fruit, and place in a blender. Pour 1 to 2 tablespoons olive oil in the blender. Add 1/4 to 1/2 cup coconut oil, and blend until smooth.

Step 2

Dampen hair and saturate with the blended mixture, working the conditioning treatment throughout your hair. Place a plastic shower cap on your head, and wrap a towel around the plastic cap. Leave the mixture on your overnight for best results. Put an extra towel over your pillow to protect your bed linens.

Step 3

When you wake up in the morning, wash your hair with a moisturizing shampoo and condition as usual. If your hair is extremely damaged and dry, you might want to consider using conditioner only to wash hair because shampoo can strip your hair of its natural oils.
