Reese's chocolate-covered peanut butter cups will melt to create a peanut-flavored base for a chocolate sauce or dessert filling. The melted Reese's peanut butter cups can also be used as a chocolaty spread for toast. Because chocolate burns easily, it's simplest to melt it in a microwave and check it frequently.

Combine 1 tablespoon of butter for each Reese's Peanut Butter Cup you want to melt in a microwave-safe bowl. Use less butter for a thicker final product.

Melt the peanut butter cups and butter in the microwave on high power for 45 to 60 seconds.

Tip

You can also bake the peanut butter cups in a toaster at 325 degrees Fahrenheit oven for 2 to 3 minutes or until softened and spreadable, for making a thicker, chocolate-peanut butter spread.
