Chocolate dipped strawberries are a great desert or snack which is very easy to prepare. When you purchase chocolate dipped strawberries from specialty shops, you may notice the chocolate has a shiny bright sheen to it. You will first need to purchase baking chocolate from your local grocery store. For this dip preparation, you will only need to use 1/2 lb. of baking chocolate.
Purchase fresh strawberries or pick some from your own garden.
Slowly heat the 1/2 lb. of baking chocolate in a sauce pan on the stove. Once the chocolate begins to melt, add 1 tbsp. of vegetable oil to the melted chocolate. Continue to stir the chocolate mixture until the liquid is a consistent texture.
Remove the sauce pan from the stove top. Wash 12 - 15 large strawberries, and pat them dry with a paper towel. Holding the stem of the strawberry, dip the strawberry into the chocolate liquid to just below the stem. Hold it there for 1 second, and then slowly remove it from the chocolate liquid. Set the strawberry down on wax paper, or a dinner plate to cool. Let cool down, and enjoy your shiny professional looking chocolate dipped strawberry.
