Eagle Brand is the condensed and evaporated milk made by Borden. You can use a can of Eagle Brand condensed milk to make rich and creamy ice cream. Unlike evaporated milk, which is milk with some of the water removed, condensed milk has added sugar. When you use condensed milk in your ice cream mix, do not add any additional sugar. Your dessert will be sweet from the sugar in the Eagle Brand milk.

Whisk together the half-and-half, Eagle Brand condensed milk and vanilla in a bowl.

Place the bowl in the freezer for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld and the mixture to chill.

Place the drum in the ice cream freezer, and follow the instructions included with your ice cream freezer for making ice cream.

Spoon the ice cream from the drum to a lidded container and place in the freezer for 1 hour to allow the ice cream to harden. Serve on ice cream cones, in bowls or on top of other desserts.

Tips

  • There are dozens of types of ice cream freezers available, and they all have unique procedures for freezing a base mix into ice cream. Be sure to follow the directions of your manufacturer's ice cream maker.
