This is an easy recipe for oven-baked bacon wrapped aspargus. Bacon adds color and flavor to the vegetable and simple substitutions save calories.
I use pre-cooked bacon because it has fewer calories and less fat than pan-fried bacon strips. You can use any variety of bacon though.
The recipe calls for no calorie spray butter by Parkay but any brand is fine…even real butter, melted, is fine to use. I prefer the Parkay in order to save calories.

Things You'll Need
First, prepare your asparagus.
If you’re using fresh, rinse well with water and trim off cut ends.
If you’re using canned, drain water from asparagus and pat dry.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Spray a cookie sheet with non-stick buttery spray (Pam).
Bundle 3-4 spears of asparagus together and wrap with a strip of bacon. Lay the bundle on the cookie sheet with the seam-side down.
Repeat to form as many asparagus bundles as desired.
Spray asparagus bundles with butter and season to taste.
Place in oven on center rack for approximately 20 minutes or until bacon is done and asparagus is tender-crisp and dark green in color.
