How to Make a Honey and Egg Facial Mask. Honey and egg make a moisturizing, nourishing and tightening facial mask. Add a few drops of essential oil and you've got a real treat in store. For oily skin, use just the egg white. For dry skin, just use the egg yolk. Use the whole egg on normal skin types. Here is an easy recipe for a honey/egg facial mask to help shrink pores on the face and neck, while also smoothing and brightening the skin.

Beat the egg yolk or egg white in a small bowl. If you want both the tightening and moisturizing effect, beat the whole egg until it is well combined but not frothy. Hand beating is better than using a mixer or egg-beater. Add 1 tsp. honey and 1/4 tsp. of vinegar. Stir well to combine all ingredients.

Add one drop of lavender essential oil to the mixture for dry skin, one drop of bergamot essential oil for normal to oily skin. Combine well with the egg-honey mixture, making sure the oil is incorporated.

Apply to cleansed face and neck. Leave the facial on for 15 to 20 minutes before rinsing with warm water.

To make honey easier to pour, hold the container under a warm water faucet for two to five minutes or let stand in a pan of warm water. Honey never goes "bad." If it has become crystallized, simply under the jar under hot water for several minutes or submerge in a pan of hot water. Do not microwave honey. It can become too hot too quickly, destroying some of its natural enzyme action. Use raw, unfiltered honey for the most potent results. Honey labels will say "raw" if the honey has not been processed. Also, most dark colored honey is raw and unfiltered, and also contains a higher concentration of nutrients.

Discard any unused portion of the mask. Do not keep it for a second application, since it will deteriorate quickly and lose effectiveness.
