If you are looking to improve the tone, look and feel of your face, a moisturizing exfoliant mask may be just the beauty item that you need. Instead of purchasing pricey, store-bought face masks, make a homemade version with a few simple ingredients such as honey, lemon and brown sugar. With anti-inflammatory, moisturizing, antibacterial and exfoliating properties, these household items easily combine into a fresh scrub that will leave your skin glowing.
Measure 2 cups of packed, brown sugar in a clear measuring cup. Set it aside.
Cut a fresh lemon in half. Squeeze one lemon half into a small bowl. Pick out any stray seeds. Repeat with the other half.
Pour the brown sugar into a mixing bowl. Measure 4 tsp. of the fresh lemon juice. Add the measured lemon juice into the mixing bowl with the sugar.
Measure 4 tbsp. of honey. Pour 1 tbsp. at a time into the lemon-sugar mixture.
Mix the honey, lemon and brown sugar together with a large spoon until it turns into a spreadable consistency. If the sugar will not stick together, add another tablespoon of honey to bind it.
Tip
Add 1 tbsp. of vegetable oil or almond oil for extra softening.
