Trying to keep your pasta from sticking together? You don’t need to deal with sticky, clumpy pasta any more. Follow these simple steps to keep pasta from sticking.

Add 1 to 2 tsp. of salt to your cooking water before it boils. Salt will help prevent the pasta from sticking, while also adding flavor.

Stir the pasta when you add it to the pot. Lower the cooking flame to medium or medium-high. Continue to stir occasionally every few minutes to keep the pasta from sticking to the bottom or sides of the pot.

Drizzle a little extra-virgin olive oil onto the cooked pasta. Do this after straining the pasta and before you put it back into the pot. Olive oil will keep the pasta from sticking to itself and to the pot.

Mix the pasta with the olive oil using a large kitchen spoon. The olive oil also adds flavor and helps the pasta keep longer in the refrigerator.
