How to Juice a Sweet Potato

By Joe Faulkner-Edwards

When it comes to juicing, sweet potatoes may not be the first vegetable you think of, but you can mix them with other juices to add richness and a smooth, thick texture. Strawberries, with their acidity, pair well with the sweet potatoes, as does fresh apple juice. Go all-vegetable and mix carrot juice, orange juice, a dash of lime juice and sweet potato juice together for a nutrition powerhouse with zing. As with all fresh juices, drink it straight away.

Step 1

Wash the sweet potato thoroughly with clean water and peel it.

Step 2

Chop the sweet potatoes into strips or chunks small enough to fit into your juicer.

Step 3

Juice the sweet potatoes as instructed in your juicer's operational manual.

Step 4

Wash, chop and juice carrots, oranges, or any other fruit or vegetables and add to your sweet potato juice.

Step 5

Add the juice to a blender with a handful of crushed ice.

Step 6

Blend the juice and ice to create a refreshing frothy juice drink.
