Effect of Sun on Gray Hair

Don't hide your gray; accentuate the positive and bring out those beautiful tones and highlights. Fortunately, there are several ways to accomplish this without the use of harmful chemicals.

Boil a few small potatoes in a large saucepan full of water. Strain the water from the boiled potatoes, and use it to rinse your hair after shampooing. The solution will add darker highlights to gray hair.

Highlight gray hair with a sage rinse. Put 1/2 cup of dried sage in 2 cups of water. Simmer it for about 30 minutes, and then remove it from the burner and allow the mixture to steep for for 3 hours. Strain the mixture and pour it through clean, dry hair. Allow your hair to dry naturally then rinse the mixture from your hair.

Massage your scalp with emu oil or omega-3 oil, which will not only bring out the shine, but will also rejuvenate the pigments in your hair.

Make an herbal massage to bring out the best in gray hair. Combine 1 tbsp. of dried sage with 1 tbsp. of dried rosemary and 1 tbsp. of chamomile, and mix it in 2 cups of water. Simmer it for 25 minutes, strain it, and allow it to cool. Massage the mixture into your scalp and hair, then rinse it out.

Combine 2 tbsp. of apple cider vinegar with a gallon of warm water, and rinse your hair after a shampoo.
