Almond milk is different from cow's milk, because it is made from ground almonds and has no lactose or cholesterol. Even with these differences, the methods for heating almond milk are similar to those used to heat cow's milk. With gentle heat and a slow heating process, almond milk will warm and take on a roasted almond flavor.
Double Boiler Heating
Add water to the bottom pan of the double boiler and place the other pan on top. Pour your almond milk into the top pan.
Set heat to medium-low to heat the milk gradually, if you are using a double boiler. If you are using a single pan, the heat should be set to low or just slightly above low.
Remove the milk from pan, and either use in a recipe or drink as a beverage. The almond milk will be done when it is slightly steaming and hot to the touch.

Microwave Heating
Pour the desired amount of almond milk in a microwave-safe container and place a folded paper towel over it to prevent spattering.
Set the power to 50 percent and cook for 30 seconds at a time. At each 30 second interval, remove the container, stir the milk and check the temperature. If your microwave does not have power levels, use the defrost setting.
Remove the container from microwave and use the almond milk in a recipe or drink as a beverage. The milk will be done when it is slightly steaming and hot to the touch.
