Skin tags can be a problem, especially when they start to show up on the face. Though these are generally not cancerous, they are unpleasant to look at and can be very embarrassing. The eyes are an especially annoying area of the body for the skin tags to show up. Not only are eyes a sensitive area of the body, but having skin tags around the eyes can eliminate a number of the natural remedies available, since these remedies should not be used near the eyes. Fortunately, there are ways to get rid of the skin tags, even if they’re on the eyes.

Speak to a doctor about removing the skin tags. Skin tags around the eyes are a challenge. If the skin tag is around the eye, but not very close, it can be removed at home. If it is close to the eye, especially when it is on the eyelid, a doctor should remove the skin tag to avoid damaging the eye.

Tie a string around the skin tag. It needs to be tight to be effective and it might take a few tries. Make sure to cut off the circulation to the skin tag. After a few hours, it should become discolored. If it is not discolored, retie the string. Occasionally, tighten the string. Most skin tags will fall off after the blood supply is cut off.

Cut the skin tag off with scissors. If it is close to the eye, especially close to the eye, have a doctor remove the skin tag. Add a band aid immediately after cutting off the skin tag.

Tip

Do not use any chemicals like liquid nitrogen to remove skin tags around the eyes. The chemical remedies can result in damage to the eye and should only be used when skin tags are not near the eyes.
