Jell-O is a name-brand gelatin dessert made by Kraft Foods. When prepared according to the directions on the box, Jell-O is a firm, gelatin, chilled dessert. Try something new by freezing your Jell-O mixture and creating Jell-O popsicles. These treats require very little work and make a great snack. Experiment with different flavors of Jell-O for different frozen treats. Jell-O can also be simply prepared then frozen in a large bowl, but it may take twice as long to freeze thoroughly because of the volume.
Things You'll Need
Combine Jell-O powder, 1 cup of boiling water and 1/3 cup granulated sugar in a bowl. Stir briskly with a spoon or whisk until the Jell-O powder and sugar dissolve completely. This should only take around a minute.
Add 1 1/3 cup cold water to the mixture and mix thoroughly. Pour the Jell-O into an empty ice cube tray or small paper cups and put them into the freezer for a few hours, until the Jell-O begins to become firm.
Place a popsicle stick into each container to serve as a handle once the Jell-O is frozen. Put the cups or trays back the freezer for 8 to 12 hours, until frozen thoroughly. The Jell-O will not become completely solid, but it’ll become firm enough to stay on the stick.
Quickly dip the container or tray into warm water to loosen the Jell-O popsicles. This will allow you to easily remove them without the sticks coming out.
Add fruit or whipped cream to frozen Jell-O to change the taste.
