How to Freeze Concentrated Vinegar

When storing canned items, it's helpful to know how cold the area can be. According to Apple Cider Benefits, vinegar freezes when the liquid reaches 28 degree Fahrenheit. Vinegar is often used during canning. It's also helpful to know when vinegar freezes for storage purposes. An outdoor shed may seem like an effective area to store containers of concentrated vinegar, but if the temperature drops too cold, it will freeze. If you don't need the vinegar right away, it's a good place to store it.

Step 1

Pour the concentrated vinegar into a freezer-safe container. Leave the top fourth of the container empty to give room for the vinegar to expand.

Step 2

Put the lid on the container. Close the lid tightly.

Step 3

Stick the container in a freezer. The temperature needs to reach at least 28 degree Fahrenheit in the freezer.

Step 4

Leave the container in the freezer for 12 hours to freeze. Leave if if you want it to stay frozen.
