Read the instructions on the gelatin package for how much water to use. Measure out the correct amount of water and pour it into the saucepan.
Place the saucepan on the stove. Turn the burner to medium heat and wait for the water to start boiling.
Pour the gelatin into a bowl. Pour the boiling water over the gelatin. Stir the gelatin with a spoon until the crystals dissolve in the hot water.
