Nicknamed "the queen of all oils," sesame oil has been used for thousands of years as a natural antibacterial and anti-inflammatory agent. Studies in India have shown it to be helpful in treating cardiovascular disease as well as diseases like diabetes, hepatitis, cancer and migraines. Cured sesame oil can be used for medicinal uses or edible uses.
Pour sesame oil into a saucepan.
Place two small drops of water into the pan of oil.
Heat over a low flame until the drops of water begin to crackle and the temperature reaches about 210 degrees F. You want to bring the oil to a slow simmer.
Remove the pan from the burner, and allow the oil to cool.
Transfer the oil into a nonmetallic, nonplastic container for storage or immediate use.
