Tea strainers can be a useful little kitchen tool, helping you make tasty tea without little bits of the tea getting into your tea water. Tea strainers have small mesh bowls that can need cleaning. According to the Tea Strainer's website, most tea strainers are stainless steel and prone to discoloring after repeated use.
Mix a small amount of bleach into the bowl with water. Mix about 1/4 cup of bleach with 1 cup of water.
Dip your tea strainer in the water and bleach mixture. Leave your tea strainer in the bleach mixture for about 20 minutes. Take the tea strainer out and brush it down with your cleaning brush. If you still see discoloring repeat this step.
Rinse thoroughly and then rinse again. According to the Tea Strainer's website, if you leave any bleach on the tea strainer, you may taste a hit of that bleach in your tea.
